Injuries are one of the worst aspects of football, and each week, the league has players go down with different ailments that could cause them to miss time.
On Monday night, former New England Patriots offensive tackle Trent Brown, now with the Cincinnati Bengals, suffered a torn patellar tendon which will knock him out for the rest of the 2024 season, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
New England originally traded for Brown back in 2018, which helped them with Super Bowl 53. After a brief stint with the Las Vegas Raiders, the Patriots acquired Brown in a trade again.
In total, Brown appeared in 53 games (starting 49) for New England over four seasons.
The Patriots decided to go in a different direction this offseason, which hasn’t exactly looked like the right move, as their offensive line, specifically their left tackle spot.
However, considering his health history, it made some sense.
Now, just three games into his tenure with Cincinnati, he’s done for the year. He’ll be a 32-year-old free agent next offseason if he does decide to return, but it will be a tough road back for him.
