Commanders Dan Quinn Scouts ‘Remarkable’ Jayden Daniels

The Washington Commanders’ 38-33 win over the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium will be remembered as the night rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels announced himself to the NFL .

Daniels was superb, completing 21 of his 23 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 39 yards and a touchdown from 12 carries.

But Daniels’ crowning moment was leading a 16-play, 80-yard touchdown drive (went 7 of 7 for 72 yards passing) in the fourth quarter as he converted three third downs and a fourth-and-four to ice the game on the road.

“He just really played a remarkable game,” head coach Quinn said of Daniels . “I definitely understand our fan base has been waiting for the franchise QB, but I also don’t want Jayden feeling any ghosts, making sure he understands there’s only one name on the back of that jersey, and that’s for him, and I don’t want any comparison or any of the other stuff. I don’t want to compare him to anybody but him because he’s still growing and quite honestly I can’t wait to see who he’s becoming, he had a remarkable game and I was really proud of him.”
