A winter storm warning is forecasting up to 9 inches of snow for the Greater Cincinnati region between Sunday and late Monday, according to the National Weather Service .
The winter storm warning was issued at 3:15 a.m. Saturday and is in effect for the Greater Cincinnati region from Sunday morning through Monday evening.
The warning was issued for:
- Franklin, Ripley, Dearborn, Ohio and Switzerland counties in Indiana.
- Boon, Kenton and Campbell counties in Kentucky.
- Butler, Warren, Clinton, Ross, Hamilton, Clermont, Brown, Highland, Adams, Pike and Scioto counties in Ohio.
The storm, which the Weather Channel named “Winter Storm Blair, ” is predicted to move through the Plains to portions of the Midwest and mid-Atlantic.
Heavy mixed precipitation is expected , with total snow and sleet accumulations between 5 and 9 inches and ice accumulations up to a tenth of an inch, the weather service said. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes.
