Local officer’s intuition leads to arrest of suspected copper thief in Clermont County

GOSHEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) – A police officer’s keen observation led to the arrest of a suspected copper thief in the early hours on Wednesday.

Sergeant Houk noticed a suspicious truck in the Stone Pillars Farm subdivision just after midnight.

He intercepted a man who was quickly leaving a construction site and discovered that the man’s license plate was partially hidden. Nearby, bolt cutters were found on the ground.

Authorities said the 26-year-old man from Pleasant Plain was targeting construction sites to steal copper and other items. He now faces several charges…
