Cincinnati family’s home destroyed in huge explosion as community rallies to raise thousands

A Cincinnati community has raised thousands of dollars for a local family who lost their home in a terrifying huge explosion.

Maria Silva, Josué Hernández and their two young children were at their East Price Hill home on March 6 when neighbors heard a loud “boom” and felt earthquake-like tremors just before 8.30pm. The property was suddenly engulfed in flames and fire crews rushed to the Elberon Avenue home following reports of a potential explosion.

Upon arrival, they discovered the right side of the residence almost entirely destroyed. The family were rushed to hospital and one of the adults suffered serious injuries , the fire department said.

At the scene, fire crews had found at least one member of the family lying injured in the front yard. Locals recalled the terrifying incident…
