COVINGTON, Ky. — Newly released body camera and surveillance video shows the moment a convicted murderer assaulted a deputy at the Kenton County Detention Center — an attack that happened the same day he was sentenced to life in prison.
The attack happened in August 2024, just hours after Timothy Delehanty was sentenced for the 2006 murder of Paul Clayton and the attempted murder of another inmate, WXIX reports. Prosecutors say Delehanty requested a shower, then suddenly struck the deputy in the face. The videos, released April 1, show the struggle that followed before staff were able to restrain him.
