Lenawee County jury convicts Richardo Sepulveda on all charges — except murder

ADRIAN — Jurors convicted an Ohio man on five of six counts in the 1997 “headless, handless” murder trial that concluded Friday in Lenawee County Circuit Court .

Richardo Sepulveda, 53, of Cincinnati, was found guilty of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, assault with intent to maim, conspiracy to commit assault with intent to maim, tampering with evidence and conspiracy to commit tampering with evidence. Circuit Judge Michael R. Olsaver remanded Sepulveda to the custody of the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office and scheduled sentencing for June 13.

There was one acquittal on the most serious charge: first-degree, premeditated murder. Because of that, Sepulveda remains eligible for parole, according to one of his attorneys, William Amadeo of Ann Arbor. Conspiracy to commit first-degree murder does not carry the mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole that first-degree murder does…
