CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Igloo Products Corp. has expanded its recall of some of its coolers due to serious safety concerns, bringing the total number of recalled units to nearly 1.2 million.
The recall now includes an additional 130,000 of 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers, following reports of 78 fingertip injuries, with 26 cases resulting in amputations, bone fractures, or lacerations.
The hazard stems from the tow handle, which can pinch consumers’ fingertips against the cooler, posing amputation and crushing risks. The affected coolers, manufactured before January 2024, feature the “IGLOO” logo on the side and were sold in various color combinations.
