CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Those in Greater Cincinnati can see the International Space Station (ISS), the biggest and brightest satellite, fly overhead four times this weekend.
Here are the rough times of the passes:
- May 9: 10:21-10:28 p.m., moving southwest to northeast
- May 10: 4:52-4:58 a.m., moving northwest to southeast
- May 10: 9:34-9:40 p.m., moving southwest to northeast
- May 11: 10:23-10:29 p.m., face northwest
From Earth, ISS looks like a very bright, non-twinkling star moving slowly across the sky. However, the ISS orbits at a speed of 17,500 miles per hour, or over 4 miles per second. The reason it can be seen is because the solar panels are about an acre in size and reflect a tremendous amount of sunlight. The ISS itself…..
