SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC/CBS Newspath/WKRC) – A night out in Georgia turned into a nightmare for two women from the Tri-State who were reportedly attacked in an attempted kidnapping near downtown, reports WTOC. Aubrey Warpool and Makenzie Cave were returning to their Airbnb in Savannah after visiting a bar when a man attacked them, according to a police report filed on June 8.
The report states that the women were walking when a tall man approached from behind, grabbed Cave, and dragged her by her hair. Warpool fought back, hitting the attacker and screaming, which led to the suspect fleeing in the opposite direction. Cave was later taken to the hospital with a large gash on her legs and a handprint on her throat.
Warpool and Cave, who have visited Savannah several times, said they noticed the man earlier in the night hiding behind bushes. Feeling uneasy, they walked with arms interlocked and quickened their pace…
