CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A 19-year-old former nursing home aide has been indicted by a Butler County Grand Jury for stealing a significant sum of money from an elderly resident under her care. Sheriff Richard K. Jones announced the arrest of Aaleagh Hoop, of Greenville, Ohio, following a comprehensive investigation.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office received a report that approximately $23,000 had been fraudulently withdrawn from the bank account of a resident at Woodland Country Manor Nursing Home. Detectives, with the cooperation of the nursing home, conducted a detailed investigation, reviewing bank records and online transactions, which led them to identify Hoop as the primary suspect.
During a formal interview, Hoop admitted to the theft. The Grand Jury returned a direct indictment on charges of Theft from a Protected Class and Misuse of a Credit Card, both felonies of the third degree. Hoop was arrested in Darke County with the assistance of the Greenville Police Department and is currently in custody awaiting further court proceedings…
