Worth the Drive: Celebrate 75 years of Northern KY culture at Behringer-Crawford Museum

Covington’s Behringer-Crawford Museum is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2025 with an exhibit underscoring how the museum has impacted “art, culture and community” in Northern Kentucky since its inception.

The exhibit, which runs throughout the year, is one of countless ways the museum contributes to and preserves the region’s cultural fabric, as the museum has evolved to take a generalist approach to encapsulating Northern Kentucky over the years, Behringer-Crawford Museum board member Casmir Thornberry said.

The museum was founded in 1950 to honor William Behringer, a Covington native who had amassed a “collection of oddities,” including items he gathered while traveling internationally, Thornberry said.
