Local man sentenced to prison for COVID-19 relief fraud; must pay back $300K

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A local man has been sentenced to prison for submitting fraudulent applications for COVID-19 relief funds.

A federal judge ordered 62-year-old Herman Bruins to serve one year and one day for conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Bruins was also ordered to pay nearly $300,000 in restitution.
