‘An awful crime’: Tri-State man pleads guilty to targeting multiple underage girls online

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKRC) — A Middletown man is facing a potential 26-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to targeting underage girls online.

53-year-old William Elam posed as a 14-year-old boy and engaged in online conversations with girls as young as 10 years old, convincing them to send illicit pictures and videos, according to prosecutors.
