Ohio man dead after wakeboarding on Norris Lake

UNION COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — An Ohio man died Wednesday evening after he lost consciousness following wakeboarding on Norris Lake, according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

Around 6:38, the TWRA received a call that a man was being given CPR on a boat in the lake near the Hickory Point subdivision. TWRA officers responded to the scene and learned that the man had been wakeboarding and had fallen into the water.

The agency said preliminary information shows that the man reboarded the vessel after falling into the water, but then began experiencing a medical emergency and lost consciousness. Someone on the boat called 911, and first responders attempted to help the man. Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
