Governor DeWine Taps Diverse Leaders for Ohio Boards & Commissions, Cincinnati, Cleveland Heights, Columbus Residents Among Appointees

Last Friday, Governor Mike DeWine completed a swath of appointments across various Ohio boards and commissions, setting the stage for varied leadership across the state’s institutional landscape. It was announced, among a bevy of new and returning faces, that Tom A. Raga of Cincinnati will join the Sinclair Community College Board of Trustees, Monique R. Wingard of Cleveland Heights will serve as a student member on the Kent State University Board of Trustees, and Valerie A. Lemmie is to reconvene with the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, appointed as Chair.

The Ohio Ireland Trade Commission will welcome three new members for terms extending up to four years, these include Mark A. Owens of Rocky River, Daniel J. O’Connell of Girard, and Elizabeth Baumgartner of Columbus in addition; Terry J. Cosby of Canal Winchester takes his place on the Wildlife Council and in an extensive list that reflects the diverse governance needs of Ohio, ranging from civil rights to trade relations to environmental stewardship, Governor DeWine’s latest appointments span several key areas, each holding its specific mandate, its unique challenges, which these newly appointed or reelected individuals will confront and navigate in the service of the broader Ohio community.

Among those reappointed, Neal F. Zimmers, Jr. and Richard F. Hillis will serve again on the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board, Charles R. Moses and Christopher H. Gillcrist retain their positions on the Ohio History Connection Board of Trustees, and several returning faces will continue to work on the State Lottery Commission, among them Janet Weir Creighton, Nita Gupta, and Jonathan S. Hughes…
