CINCINNATI (ENQUIRER) – The operator of Metro will pay $10 million to settle a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of Beverly Kinney, the retired schoolteacher killed by a Metro bus in early 2024, according to our partners at the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Under terms of the agreement, which The Enquirer obtained via a public records request, Metro’s owner will pay the Beverly Kinney estate $10 million in damages. In exchange, the Kinney family will dismiss its lawsuit against the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority and Deon Willis, the driver of the bus that hit and killed Kinney.
“We have reached a resolution that we believe honors her memory and reflects our continued commitment to ensuring the safest possible environment for our employees, passengers and the public,” Metro spokesperson Brandy Jones said in releasing the settlement…
