Suspect drives on sidewalks, yards to flee police before crash: court docs

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – An armed drug trafficking suspect fled a traffic stop by speeding up over sidewalks and lawns -putting the public at deadly risk – before crashing, court records show.

Avier Lawson, 23, of Cheviot, has been wanted since June on drug trafficking charges dating back to March 25 and 17, according to some of his several criminal complaints.

On Wednesday night, Cincinnati police say he fled a traffic stop that ended with him crashing the silver Lexus he was driving at Werk Road and Boudinot Avenue in Westwood about 6 p.m. Wednesday, police say.

Lawson “fled from the traffic stop at a high rate of speed, driving on sidewalks and through yards, endangering the lives of pedestrians before crashing,” police wrote in one of the complaints…
