‘Hero in the house’: Local corrections officer rescues woman, dog from house fire

HAMILTON, Ohio (WKRC) – A local law enforcement officer is being hailed as a hero after rescuing a woman and her dog from a house fire.

Butler County Corrections Officer Megan Holland had just finished her overnight shift when she noticed thick black smoke in a neighborhood on her way home. Without hearing any sirens, she felt compelled to investigate.
