Woman shot in Cincinnati homeless encampment, police say

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A woman is expected to recover after she was shot in the back in a Cincinnati homeless encampment Wednesday night, police tell FOX19 NOW.

It happened near Downtown at 8:15 p.m., in the 600 block of West Fifth Street, just off Sixth and Linn streets in Queensgate.

The victim, a woman who is 30 to 40 years old, was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to Captain Stephen Bower.

Initial emergency communication reports indicate a man fled in a black vehicle, but he said this does not appear to be a drive-by shooting…
