Miami Township, OH – 24-year-old Anna Millette has been sentenced to 21 years in prison after fatally running over her 64-year-old mother, Joyce Millette, in a shocking incident on June 15, 2024. The younger Millette pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault, originally facing a murder charge.
Tragic Incident at Home
Police in Miami Township, a suburb of Cincinnati, responded to a domestic disturbance at a home on Deerhaven Court where they found Joyce Millette pinned against a garage wall by a car, partially damaged from the impact. Officers discovered Anna Millette in the driver’s seat, attempting to flee the scene.
Officers tried to remove Anna from the car, but she reversed, striking an officer, and later fled the driveway at high speed before crashing on I-275 near Loveland.
Joyce Millette was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Officers in the garage sustained minor injuries.
History of Dangerous Behavior
The court learned that Millette had a prior incident in May 2022, when she allegedly hit a 19-year-old man with her car on purpose after a breakup. She had pleaded guilty to felonious assault for that incident in January 2023 and served jail time. Prosecutors noted that she was on probation and had voluntarily stopped taking prescribed medication at the time of her mother’s death.
