‘A lot of fear’: Ethiopian community grieves following Cincinnati shooting that killed 3

MT. WASHINGTON, Ohio (WKRC) — Cincinnati’s Ethiopian community is in mourning and searching for answers.

This comes after three people were shot and killed in Mt. Washington on Sunday. Araya Amsalu said all three belonged to the Mahdereselam Kidanemihret Ethiopian Orthodox Church.

“Bemnet, who has been here the longest, has been here about five years, I think, or six years. He came in to go to college, so his aunt lives here, and his mom comes frequently,” said Amsalu. “The young ladies came in to go to school, and they are like, they are closer with the young people.”…
