A beloved Clifton coffee shop is set to close its doors. Sitwell’s Coffeehouse Act II, a staple student spot on Ludlow Ave., has announced plans to tentatively close by the end of September 2025.
Co-owner and operator Flor Garayoa addressed regulars over social media on Sept. 11, 2025, writing that the decision to halt business was made jointly with her husband and co-owner, Alex Barden, to prioritize time with their newborn daughter.
Despite its unclear future, this is not the first time Sitwell’s operations have been in limbo. The current co-owning couple purchased the location following an earlier temporary closure in 2018.
