Historic Cincinnati mansion faces zoning battle over boutique hotel plans

MOUNT AIRY, Ohio (WKRC) – A historic mansion in Mount Airy built by renowned Cincinnatian Powell Crosley Jr. in 1928, is at the center of a zoning dispute as plans to convert it into a boutique hotel face opposition.

The Cincinnati Preservation Association, the current owner, can no longer afford the mansion’s upkeep, with necessary repairs estimated at several million dollars, according to real estate agent Lynn Schwarber.
