Local Families Can Use MyChart Symptom Checker for Children’s Health Concerns, Says TriHealth Pediatrician

TriHealth pediatrician Dr. Doug Cionni recently discussed the MyChart Symptom Checker. This digital tool helps parents assess their children’s symptoms and decide on next steps. The Symptom Checker is part of the MyChart platform. Parents can use it at any time, including outside regular office hours.

Dr. Cionni said the Symptom Checker offers several benefits. It is available 24/7. Parents answer a series of questions about their child’s symptoms. The tool then suggests whether home care is enough or if a same-day visit is needed. If an office visit is recommended, parents can book appointments online through MyChart.

To use the Symptom Checker, parents log into their child’s MyChart account. The tool is in the menu at the top left corner. It covers many symptoms, such as fever, cough, ear pain, sore throat, vomiting, abdominal pain, rashes, and headaches.
