Former inmate finds new path through culinary arts with community support

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – After serving a three-year sentence for burglary, Frank Deets discovered a passion for cooking while watching culinary shows in prison.

Transitioning to a halfway house, Deets found support through a prison ministry group that led him to CityLink Center. The center, which helps individuals train for new careers, played a pivotal role in Deets’ journey. “The goal is for people to move from going through life to overcome obstacles, to move to thriving,” said Emilie Boyes, CityLink Center program director.
