Tri-State city already facing financial turmoil hit with pricey firefighter labor dispute

FORT THOMAS, Ky. (WKRC) – Northern Kentucky’s third largest city is embroiled in a financial and labor dispute that could cost the city over $300,000, yet another possible financial hit for the city of Fort Thomas.

The city’s firefighters’ union is demanding pay raises equivalent to those given to the police department in the summer of 2024. The police received a 2% pay raise and other benefits after disbanding their union, but the firefighters argue their contract’s equity clause entitles them to the same.
