Furniture store in Greater Cincinnati closing following bankruptcy filing

CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier) – While the future of Value City Furniture remains in question, the outlook for some of its stores is not. And at least one Tri-State location is among the initial 19 on the chopping block.

Columbus-based American Signature Inc., which operates furniture stores under both that name and Value City Furniture, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Nov. 22 and is being prepped for a potential sale.

Its 126 stores in 13 states are still open and operating, as is its website, but at least 19 locations will close and an additional 14 might follow. That former count includes a Value City Furniture store at 650 Eastgate Drive, located in the Eastgate Pavilion shopping center…
