Clermont County couple charged after failing to get treatment for 1-year-old, deputies say

CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WXIX) – A Batavia Township couple was arrested and indicted after waiting more than an hour to take their injured infant child to get emergency treatment, according to the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office.

Jacob Marcum, 22, and Lydia Wright, 21, were both indicted for endangering children after a social worker reported a 1-year-old boy with a suspected non-accidental injury at Cincinnati Children’s on Oct. 16, deputies said.

Officers responded to the hospital and interviewed Marcum and Wright, the boy’s parents, who both denied knowing about the injury. The two told deputies that they were the only adults home at the time and noticed the injury while changing the infant’s diaper…
