CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Doctors at The Christ Hospital in Ohio began utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance imaging for early cancer detection, a development that one patient credits with saving his life.
Mark Olding, who initially believed he had a sinus infection, underwent an x-ray that revealed a nodule. A subsequent CT scan, analyzed by AI, identified unusual characteristics in a lesion that was later confirmed as lung cancer.
“It was amazing because I never had any inclination it was in my lung,” Olding said. “If it wasn’t for the AI, I don’t think anybody would have picked up on it.”…
