CINCINNATI (WXIX) -Twenty-eight years ago today, two Cincinnati police officers were gunned down in the line of duty while trying to apprehend a domestic violence suspect.
The original story published in 2017 reported that Officer Daniel Pope, 35, and Specialist Ron Jeter, 34, were both shot in the back of the head shortly before midnight on December 5, 1997. They were pronounced dead on December 6, 1997.
