AVONDALE, Ohio (WKRC) – Fifth Third Bank and community leaders celebrated the opening of a new full-service banking center in Cincinnati’s Avondale neighborhood, marking the return of a standalone bank branch after nearly five years. Located in the Avondale Town Center, the branch aims to expand financial access and contribute to the neighborhood’s revitalization. Fifth Third has 21 new banking centers planned for low- and moderate-income or high minority population areas this year.
The new branch, occupying 2,024 square feet along Reading Road, features an open design and includes flexible meeting areas and a drive-up ATM. Local artist Soul Palette designed a mural celebrating Avondale’s history.
Russell Hairston, executive director of the Avondale Development Corporation, welcomed Fifth Third’s commitment to Avondale’s future. “This is more than just a bank opening; it represents a commitment to Avondale’s future,” Hairston said. “By providing accessible financial services, small business support, and homeownership opportunities, Fifth Third is helping to create a more financially inclusive Avondale.”…
