Hamilton County property tax rebate will be lowest ever

Hamilton County reporter Erin Glynn here. Since 1997, property owners in the county have received a property tax rebate based on a percentage of revenue from the county sales tax.

County leaders in the ’90s promised voters that rebate to sweeten the deal for the half cent sales tax, which funds Paycor Stadium, Great American Ball Park and payments to Cincinnati Public Schools. But the rebate this year will be lower than ever before. County leaders are concerned about bankrupting the fund, which would in turn jeopardize county services…
