Zdelia “Ada” Zeidler, the sister of actor George Clooney, has passed away following a battle with cancer at 65 years old.
Zeidler died Friday, December 19, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, Kentucky. Her family said she was surrounded by loved ones.
“My sister, Ada, was my hero,” Clooney said in a statement to PEOPLE. “She faced down cancer with courage and humor. I’ve never met anyone so brave.
