NKY thrift store find reunites family with lost piece of history

FORT MITCHELL, Ky. (WKRC) – A chance discovery at a Northern Kentucky flea market has reunited a family with a long-lost piece of its history.

Nancy Buchman, a Kenwood native now living in Cincinnati, was surprised to receive a collage of photos showing her mother as a baby in the 1930s after it was found by a shopper at the Diocesan Catholic Children’s Home flea market in Fort Mitchell.

Robin Klaene, who has a background in library research, said she noticed the name “Mary Joan Engberson” written on the back of the photo. Using an ancestry website, Klaene was able to track down Buchman and contacted her on Thanksgiving night…
