CINCINNATI (WKRC) – While Santa’s surprises may be over, Mother Nature isn’t done with 2025. Cincinnati is on high alert as a potent cold front is set to sweep through the area Sunday night, bringing rain and gusty winds — and a chance for severe weather — ahead of winter’s return.
It was 59 degrees in Cincinnati on Christmas Day 2025, tied for eighth-warmest on record and 18 degrees above normal. The warm continues through Sunday, with above-average temperatures in the 50s on Saturday, and strong southerly winds on Sunday pushing the area into the upper 60s.
There may be scattered power outages Sunday night with wind gusts likely reaching 40-50 mph, and a small chance for gusts exceeding 50 mph. This has prompted a “Marginal” or level one out of five severe storm risk. There is also a very small risk of brief tornadoes in the western Indiana counties…
