Doctors warn of severe symptoms from rapid ‘super flu’ spread

KENTUCKY (FOX 56) — Health officials say hospitals and emergency rooms across the country are slammed with flu patients, and right now, doctors say the virus is affecting children more severely.

This week, state health officials announced Kentucky’s first child flu death of the season in Kenton County—a tragic outcome doctors said could be prevented with proper precautions.

Pediatrician Heather Felton with Norton Children’s said she had seen a sharp increase in flu patients, and most of them are unvaccinated.
