Ohio Community Mourns After 11-Year-Old QueenEr’Re Reed Is Fatally Shot at Cincinnati Playground

OHIO — Cincinnati police are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of an 11-year-old girl Thursday evening at a playground in the city’s West End, a tragedy that has left a family and community grieving. Officers responded to reports of a shooting near Laurel Playground, located at the intersection of West Liberty Street and John Street, at approximately 6:42 p.m. Upon arrival, police found a young girl suffering from a gunshot wound.

Victim Transported to Children’s Hospital

Emergency responders quickly transported the child to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where medical staff attempted lifesaving treatment. Despite those efforts, the girl later died from her injuries, according to police. On Friday, authorities officially identified the victim as QueenEr’Re Reed, age 11
