Hamilton County jail ‘erroneously’ released convicted felon

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office “erroneously” released a convicted felon sentenced to prison who instead spent months at large, a sheriff’s office spokeswoman confirms to FOX19 NOW.

Rondez Horton, 25, of Avondale, is in custody in Kenton County on charges of fleeing or evading police and fugitive from another state, jail records show. He was arrested on Friday, Jan. 2.

Horton was an employee at the Family Dollar store on Harrison Avenue in Westwood when he “conspired” with three female accomplices to rob the store of cash twice in 2024: on Nov. 22 and Dec. 17, prosecutors wrote in court records.

Additionally, the women alone are accused of another robbery at a Family Dollar store on Queen City Avenue, on Dec. 13, according to Horton’s “Bill of Particulars.”…
