CINCINNATI (WXIX) – The family of an 11-year-old girl shot and killed while playing at a West End playground demanded answers from Cincinnati City Council Wednesday about why promised security cameras were never installed.
QueenEr’Re Reed died following a drive-by shooting on New Year’s Day at Laurel Playground around 6:45 p.m. Dozens of friends and family members addressed Mayor Aftab Pureval and city council members during Wednesday’s meeting.
“It shouldn’t of taken my child to lose her life for you to put a camera in this park,” said Chere Williams, Reed’s mother.
Cameras promised after previous child’s death
