Suspect in murder of Hamilton County deputy expected to change his plea

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – The Cincinnati man accused of hitting and killing a retired Hamilton County deputy with a vehicle has changed his plea.

During his court hearing Jan. 15, Rodney Hinton Jr. changed his plea from not guilty to not guilty by reason of insanity for the May 2025 killing of Deputy Larry Henderson.

The change comes right after Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Jody Luebbers announced she is dismissing the capital charges against Hinton, thus officially dropping the death penalty…
