CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Charges against a protester arrested during last summer’s demonstration on the Roebling Suspension Bridge have been dropped, closing a case that once carried a potential felony rioting charge.
Kean Babcock, a U.S. Navy veteran, said he was preparing to stand trial on lesser charges when he learned the case had been dismissed. The charges stemmed from a protest against the detention of Ayman Soliman by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
“They’re already waiting for the trial to begin, but everybody’s confused about why the doors are still locked,” Babcock said. “I got on my phone to text my lawyer, and there’s a text message there waiting for me saying, ‘Hey, you don’t have to show up tomorrow. Judge dropped all the charges and the case is closed.’”…
