City council to evaluate city manager amid missed review, police chief controversy

CINCINNATI — Cincinnati City Council will conduct its annual evaluation of City Manager Sheryl Long after acknowledging it skipped the required 2025 review amid scrutiny of Long’s decision to place Police Chief Teresa Theetge on administrative leave.

The review is required annually under the city charter, but council members acknowledge they failed to perform the evaluation last year. Council Member Mark Jeffreys said the review should have been done in 2025.
