Man killed in Northern Kentucky officer-involved shooting

KENTON COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) – Kentucky State Police responded to the scene of a fatal officer-involved shooting in Kenton County.

It happened around 7:30 a.m. at a residence on Sharpsburg Drive in Independence.

Initial investigations revealed that the Independence Police Department responded to a call from 62-year-old David Works, who was threatening self-harm. Upon arriving at the scene, officers attempted to talk to Works. A short time later, Works exited the residence with a firearm.

This led to officers discharging their weapons and fatally shooting him. First aid was attempted on Works, but he succumbed to his injuries. Additionally, no officers were hurt in the incident…
