Car crashes into home, trapping child under debris; driver arrested for DUI

FAIRFIELD, Calif. (WKRC) – A car crashed into a two-story California home, trapping a child under debris but causing no serious injuries, authorities said.

The crash occurred Saturday evening, according to the Fairfield Police Department. Investigators said the driver, identified as Matthew Salagubang, 23, was traveling at a high rate of speed when the vehicle went through a backyard fence and slammed into the residence.

Firefighters responded quickly and worked to free both the driver and a child who was trapped beneath fallen debris. Police said the child was not injured.
