Famed Japanese chef to open restaurant Suzu in Cincinnati

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A new contemporary Japanese restaurant led by chef Makoto Okuwa is set to open this spring at Madison Square, adding another high-profile name to Cincinnati’s growing dining scene.

Suzu is scheduled to debut in May at the mixed-use development.

The 6,000-square-foot space will seat more than 200 guests and feature indoor and outdoor dining, a private dining room known as the Tea Room and a craft cocktail bar. It will also include Suzunone, a 12-seat Edo-style omakase counter offering a traditional sushi experience.

“Suzu is a celebration of Japanese culture and cuisine, where every detail matters,” Okuwa said in a media release. “It’s about honoring tradition while creating something vibrant and alive.”…
