Francesca’s, a women’s clothing store that has been in shopping malls for more than 25 years, stopped taking online orders on its website Feb. 12 as it begins final steps to close for good.
The Houston-based retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in early February, a legal process that allows companies to reorganize or liquidate assets under court supervision. Francesca’s has started selling off its remaining clothes and accessories at discounted prices.
Stores in all 45 states where Francesca’s operates have signs saying “Everything Must Go” and similar closing-sale messages. Prices have dropped on many items like dresses, sweaters, jewelry and handbags to encourage shoppers to buy before the stores close…
