CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A man was caught on video lying in wait for a defendant moments after he was sentenced in connection with the 2024 death of a 17-year-old, triggering chaos that spilled from a Hamilton County courtroom into the hallway and outside the building.
Latrelle Rogers, 20, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a reduced charge of involuntary manslaughter for the death of Edwin “Myzell” Arrington. Rogers was sentenced in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Robert Winkler’s courtroom.
Ambush caught on video
As Rogers was escorted out of the courtroom, he was heard telling his family, “Love you.” Video shows a man standing and waiting in the hallway as Rogers walked through the door. The man, whose identity is unknown, was in a fighting stance and lunged toward Rogers with his fists.
A Hamilton County sheriff’s deputy escorting Rogers placed himself between the two men before the confrontation escalated. One deputy handcuffed the unknown man while another moved Rogers to an isolated area…
