CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Five Guys announced a second “buy one get one” deal to make up for its previous promotion, which “didn’t meet our own standards,” the company said.
The burger joint celebrated its 40th birthday on February 17 with a “birthday buy one burger, get one free” promotion, but the response was much larger than expected.
“You visited our restaurants in overwhelming numbers, and we weren’t ready for you,” the company wrote in a press release. “We didn’t meet our own standards, and that’s not something we take lightly. So, we’re asking for a do-over.”
The company said that “customers weren’t the only ones caught off guard” due to the crowd, but the employees were “put in an incredibly difficult position as well.”…
