Hoxworth Blood Center is urgently calling on the community to donate blood as local hospitals experience a surge in demand, placing a critical strain on the region’s blood supply.
Type O blood donors and platelet donors are especially needed to ensure lifesaving transfusions remain available for patients across the Tri-State. Type O+/- blood is the most frequently transfused blood type. It is essential in emergency situations. Platelets are critical for cancer patients, trauma victims, and others fighting serious illness.
Unlike many medical treatments, blood cannot be manufactured and must come from volunteer donors. Just one donation can help save multiple lives…
